Addicted to Alberta - Hole #5

#5 River Silver Tip Golf Course: Hole 2 - Par 5, 490 yards

The team down at Golf Addicts just can’t get enough of Alberta’s mountain courses, but can you blame us with the back yard good o’l Berta has ? Immerse yourself in the untouched wilderness of Canmore at  Silver Tip Golf Course and you’ll understand why this one made it on our list. Quite frankly, if we could put this whole course on here, we would. Our most memorable hole, number 2, is a remarkable 490 par 5 from the champion blue tees, with a stunning picture perfect frame of the Three Sisters  in the distance. Extremely narrow valley to a pinched “race track” fairway make this tee shot a tough one, but with the elevation dropping more than 80 feet from tee to pin, it plays much shorter then the posted yardage. If you manage to get one straight down the pipe, bask in all the glory as your ball rolls relentlessly through the middle cutting that distance to the green in half. Clap a nice fairway shot to the holy zone and you’ve set yourself up for a low one on the card. This one really compliments the straight shooter, so your better off pulling “that club” out of the bag rather then going for the hail mary, and with its elevation making the yardage so easy to cover, it isn’t too hard to put up a minus. It’s always nice to have this type of hole in your round to help keep the score low. Just remember,  no 3 putts and you’ve got this one dialled !!
